Summary

A small single-purpose Telegram bot that's still live but has had no visible update since its one announcement in July 2024. It solves a real everyday need, but there's no sign of payment, a business model, or anything that would stop someone rebuilding it in an afternoon.

Bloat · Not much here works or looks likely to last, yet.

Breakdown

Five measures, 100 points each. Open the receipts under any of them to see the posts and pages behind the points.

Viability

Is there a real problem, someone who would pay, and a market this builder can actually reach?

Converting dollars to Birr is a real need locally, but the bot is a free utility with no path to payment shown. Plenty of free calculators and bank sites cover the same ground.

22/100

Rubric 21–40A real problem, but no plausible path to anyone paying, or a market well out of this builder's reach.

Receipts (2)

Describes the bot as multiplying a number by the bank USD rate, with support for other currencies and custom rates.

Moat

What stops someone copying it?

It's a multiplication by a rate, which anyone here could rebuild in a weekend. There's no proprietary data, integration or distribution beyond the bot itself.

8/100

Rubric 0–20A thin wrapper or a clone that anyone here could rebuild in a weekend.

Receipts (2)

The core function is taking a number and multiplying it by a bank rate, plus a user-set custom rate.

Infrastructure

Does a real, working product exist?

A working bot exists and responds, but it's a thin one-step calculator with no backend, docs or other surfaces that we can see.
