Summary

A single-announcement Telegram bot from 2023 that wrapped Library Genesis search and download. The bot's own profile now says "NO LONGER WORKING", there is no sign of payments, pricing or maintenance, and the idea is a thin, legally shaky wrapper over someone else's catalogue.

Bloat · Not much here works or looks likely to last, yet.

Breakdown

Five measures, 100 points each. Open the receipts under any of them to see the posts and pages behind the points.

Viability

Is there a real problem, someone who would pay, and a market this builder can actually reach?

Readers do want free books, but the product has no way to charge and depends on a third-party piracy-adjacent source. It is now marked as not working, so there is no live user or business.

12/100

Rubric 0–20No clear problem or user. A toy, a practice clone, or a solution looking for a problem.

Receipts (2)

Moat

What stops someone copying it?

A wrapper over Library Genesis that could be rebuilt in a weekend, with no data, integrations or distribution of its own.

Receipts (2)

  1. The whole product is access to Library Genesis through Telegram, which is entirely someone else's content.

Infrastructure

Does a real, working product exist?

The bot page is reachable, but its description says it no longer works, so there is no working product today. At best it was a thin demo of fetching from Library Genesis.

  • HTTPS5/5

Hosted on a platform (store, GitHub or Telegram) — HTTPS is the platform's.

  • Real product15/35

The bot existed and responded at launch, but it is now labelled as no longer working, so only a shell remains that cannot be shown to deliver books. Credit goes to a past demo-level product, not a working one.

Sustainability

Is it being set up to last?

Telegram is a natural place to find users, but there is no payment, pricing, privacy policy, terms or support. The content depends on a third party with doubtful legitimacy, and the project has been left to lapse.
